Despite Expected Delays, Airbus Reaffirms 2024 Production Targets

April 18, 2023

French aerospace company Airbus began notifying airlines about expected delivery delays in 2024 for its fleet of A320neo jets April 18. The organization said that some planes could be postponed for up to three months.

According to Reuters, the delays do not include any changes to the company’s 2023 schedule which “has already been trimmed back” to just 720 deliveries, the same initial target the business established for 2022.

The unspecified delays for 2024 were confirmed by Airbus in a statement given to Reuters. However, the company said the announcement doesn’t reflect any worsening supply chain issues while also reaffirming its production targets for 2024 and beyond.

Still, Reuters’ Tim Hepher said that analysts believe “the jury is still out on whether Airbus will hit that target after a weak first quarter.”
